On 14th August 2025, the Baltistan Cycling Club proudly marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with an exhilarating 78km cycling event in Skardu. The ride was not just about covering distance, it was a celebration of freedom, resilience, and unity, set against the stunning backdrop of Gilgit-Baltistan’s breathtaking landscapes.
Starting in the early morning, cyclists from the club gathered with bikes decorated in Pakistan’s green and white, each carrying flags that fluttered proudly in the cool mountain breeze. The route took riders along the winding banks of the Indus River, through picturesque valleys, and past charming villages, where locals waved and children cheered us on. Every pedal stroke was a reminder of the hard-earned freedom our nation enjoys today.
The challenging 80km route tested endurance and strength, but the spirit of camaraderie kept everyone moving forward. Riders supported each other through steep climbs, long stretches, and scenic descents, proving that teamwork is the heart of every great journey.
By the time we crossed the finish line, this Pakistan cycling adventure had become more than a ride. It was a living tribute to our country’s independence, a showcase of Skardu’s natural beauty, and a testament to the growing cycling culture in Gilgit-Baltistan.
We thank all participants, volunteers, and supporters who made this event a success. Here’s to many more rides that keep the spirit of freedom alive on two wheels. Long live Pakistan! 🇵🇰
